Thirty percent of cybersecurity practitioners utilize AI tools in their workflows, with 42% exploring their adoption. Only 10% have no plans to use AI. Adoption rates are highest among industrial enterprises, IT services, and professional services. Positive impacts of AI tools include improved overall effectiveness in teams and benefits in network monitoring, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management. Large organizations are leading in AI adoption, while mid-sized and smaller firms are more conservative. Caution characterizes security professionals’ approach to adopting AI tools despite growing enthusiasm.
According to a new study from ISC2, three-in-ten practitioners already use AI tools in their daily workflows, while 42% are exploring or testing their adoption.
Of those who have already adopted AI security tools, 70% reported positive impacts on their team's overall effectiveness, particularly in network monitoring and intrusion detection.
Casey Marks noted that the report shows enthusiasm for AI is growing in security, but professionals are far more cautious about adoption and integration.
The largest organizations with over 10,000 employees are leading AI security tool adoption, while mid-sized firms show the lowest adoption rates.
