Durham police arrest 32 people after months-long firearms investigation | CBC News
Briefly

Durham police have arrested 32 individuals and laid nearly 200 criminal charges during a multi-jurisdictional firearm investigation called Project Burton, targeting a criminal group named 22-30.
Police Chief Peter Moreira explained that the name 22-30 is dedicated to two homicide victims from a June 2022 incident in Oshawa, Joshua Connell-Wong and Jaheim Spence.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of 16 illegal firearms, one kilogram each of cocaine and fentanyl, and approximately $80,000 in Canadian currency.
Moreira highlighted that out of the 32 arrested, 13 individuals were released on bail, raising concerns about repeat offenders and resource constraints for police forces.
