Resorts has reached a $45 million settlement with the Federal Trade Commission following a significant data breach in 2023 that compromised the personal information of 37 million customers. Those affected by the breach have been notified by email detailing how to file claims for potential payouts based on the sensitivity of the exposed data. Claims must be submitted by June 3, and those receiving payouts will also benefit from a year of free credit monitoring. The breach, attributed to hackers known as Scattered Spider, caused substantial disruption to Resorts' operations.
