A Wexford grandfather, who was caring for his young granddaughter, was confronted by a group of online child predator hunters after allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a girl believed to be 13 years old. The confrontation highlighted the dangers of online communication, especially regarding children’s safety. The man, in his 60s, reportedly offered the girl free tickets to a funfair alongside other inappropriate requests. Following the encounter, Gardaí have launched an investigation into the allegations and the activities of the predator-catching group.
