Researchers are feeling the strain of peer reviewing academic papers, often spending excessive time providing feedback, which has prompted many to decline review requests. An informal social media poll revealed that a significant number of academics spend two to eight hours or more on reviews. This raises concerns about finding qualified reviewers for the scientific community. To combat this issue, the author introduces a three-step method—Scan, Dictate, Refine—that drastically reduces review time while ensuring quality feedback is still delivered.
