Many CDC employees to still working from home one week after active shooter situation
Briefly

A shooting incident at the CDC in Atlanta has left employees feeling unsafe as they prepare to return to the office. An alert informed staff working in specific buildings that they may continue remote work for a week, while critical workers must return in person. Safety concerns have led many employees to seek options for telework. Former staff indicated a lack of adequate security measures and highlighted healing sessions and counseling being offered. The CDC reassured employees about their commitment to staff safety during the transition back to campus.
Many of her former co-workers just don't feel safe anymore. They have not been given any information for additional security measures that have any substance, and they don't want to work next to bullet holes.
CDC is doing everything to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of staff for when they return to campus.
CDC has been offering daily healing sessions where meditation and discussion is offered, with individual counseling also available via telehealth.
Staff who work in buildings 16, 18, 21, and 24 on the Roybal campus will continue to work remotely beginning Aug. 18 - 22, with the exception of critical workers.
