Sevilla president José María del Nido Carrasco criticized Real Madrid's recent complaints regarding refereeing as damaging to Spanish football's integrity. After Madrid requested the release of referee and VAR audio from a recent match, accusing referees of manipulation, Del Nido responded that Madrid's statement was intolerable and questioned the honour of referees. He emphasized the need for the football community to reject such statements, which he believes threaten the integrity of competitions. The ongoing tensions between clubs highlight the struggles within Spanish football regarding officiating and accountability.
We have to differentiate two things: being able to modify the refereeing system and some aspects of refereeing, and Real Madrid's statement.
It's intolerable and unacceptable. It brings into question the honour of referees and the competition.
The worst of all is that Real Madrid are trying to destroy Spanish football, with Real Madrid TV, and in various other ways.
The world of football should denounce, publicly and in the courts, a statement which goes against football's integrity.
