A group of Realtor associations and real estate firms in Arizona have been dismissed from a legal suit connected to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) after not serving the required responses. This follows the earlier dismissal of Realty ONE Group and HomeSmart, which occurred due to settlements related to a different commission lawsuit. The recent Masiello suit targets the previously active NAR Participation Rule that mandated commission offers from sellers to buyer brokers, although NAR itself is not a defendant in this case.
The dismissed parties include various Realtor associations and realty companies that failed to respond appropriately to the legal proceedings, continuing a pattern of dismissals in the ongoing lawsuit.
The Masiello copycat suit, filed in January 2024, focuses on challenging the now-defunct NAR Participation Rule, which aimed to standardize commission offers to buyer's brokers.
