The ongoing dispute between Top Agent Network and the National Association of Realtors has seen a new turn as both parties agreed to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice. Judge Vince Chhabria was notified of this amicable resolution, signaling a departure from a lengthy battle that had roots in an argument addressing competition and consumer choice in real estate marketing.
Top Agent Network initiated the lawsuit back in May 2020, alleging that the National Association of Realtors conspired to stifle competition and diminish consumer choice regarding home marketing options. The complaints primarily centered around NAR's Clear Cooperation Policy, which they claimed inhibited the necessary flexibility for consumers wishing to market their properties without resorting to the MLS.
