"WilkinsonEyre A new glass-walled "jewel like" tall building is set to join the skyscraper cluster in the Square Mile, after it was approved by the City of London Corporation."
"The chairman of the City of London Corporation's planning and transportation committee, Tom Sleigh, said the building would deliver on "jobs, public space, and best-in-class offices"."
"Ben Littman, head of development at Aviva Investors, one of the developers behind the tower, said it was a "bold and thoughtful scheme that will bring a long-vacant site back into positive use. "It reflects the best of what the City can offer; ambition, culture, sustainability and inclusivity.""
A new twin-tower glass-and-steel development will replace the vacant Fountain House at 130 Fenchurch Street, delivering about 58,000 sq m of office space across 31- and 34-storey towers. The scheme includes publicly accessible cultural space, a 17th-floor external garden terrace, a 20th-floor public rooftop gallery, new food and drink units, and a pedestrian route linking Cullum Street to Fen Court. The building will sit among existing Square Mile skyscrapers and aims to provide jobs, public space, sustainable design, and inclusive offices. The existing 1950s Fountain House will be demolished next year.
