Web Summit's HQ in Dartry put up for sale
Briefly

Lisney has listed Tramway House, currently rented by Web Summit, for sale at €220,000 per annum. Despite changes in ownership, Web Summit's lease remains unaffected. The property, a protected structure, offers development potential for 30 housing units, supported by a feasibility study that suggests a mix of 25 apartments and 5 townhouses. Tramway House, previously a tram depot, boasts 25,000 sq ft of office space, and discussions hint at the viability of a student accommodation scheme as well, contingent on planning permissions and local demand.
"Web Summit is the sitting tenant, so the ultimate ownership of the building has no impact on us," a spokesman for the company said today.
Lisney's ad says that Tramway House is a protected structure set on one acre of land, with potential to build 30 housing units on the site.
Web Summit was notified a month ago about the planned sale of its HQ. The building was last put on the market in 2014, when the guide price was €3m.
A feasibility study by John Fleming Architects points out that protected structures usually do not allow for extensive alterations, but a number of internal changes made to the building… give the potential for a more adventurous design.
