Couples that share this quality can reduce uncertainty and boost life satisfaction, study says
Briefly

A study from McGill University shows that couples who share a worldview experience less uncertainty and more meaning in life. Conducting five studies with around 1,300 participants, researchers discovered that experiencing a shared reality with a partner fosters emotional well-being. Particularly among front-line healthcare workers and Black Americans during the pandemic and social movements, the findings demonstrate that matching perspectives on significant issues reduces confusion about one’s environment, ultimately leading to a stronger sense of meaningfulness in life and work. This research presents a different focus compared to previous studies that emphasized belonging and support in relationships.
"Our approach was different from earlier work on how relationships promote meaning, which tended to focus on aspects like belonging or support. We set out to explore whether sharing thoughts, ideas and concerns about the world with a romantic partner could enhance meaning by reducing uncertainty about one's environment."
"Couples who hold a shared worldview experienced less uncertainty and found more meaning in their lives. This shared understanding helps reduce confusion about one’s environment."
