'A beloved figure' - Tributes paid following death of Bishop and former Clare GAA President Willie Walsh

Bishop Emeritus Willie Walsh, who served in the Diocese of Killaloe, passed away at his Clare home. A native of Roscrea, he dedicated his life to the priesthood, overseeing significant roles including teaching at St Flannan's College and holding various pastoral positions. Renowned for his passion for hurling, he contributed greatly to local teams and was President of Clare GAA in 2023. His ministry was characterized by his caring nature and commitment to sacramental marriage, demonstrating God's love throughout his 66 years serving marginalized communities.
