This shift reflects the broader censorship trend initiated by the Trump administration, which has instructed federal agencies to avoid terms like LGBTQ, leading to significant repercussions for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) dialogues. Experts argue that this suppression demonstrates a desire to hinder conversations surrounding equality and civil rights.
"You see an administration that actively wants to suppress dialogues about continuing struggles for equality of opportunity in our country," said Laura Ann Sanchez.
"When something with such a rich conceptual framework such as DEI gets bureaucratized, it becomes easier to attack," warned Sanchez.
