Jesse Watters mocked Fox News commercials aimed at older viewers while commenting on Cracker Barrel's rebrand, saying the chain is 'for old people' and comparing marketing to selling reverse mortgages, gold, or Relief Factor to young people. Tyrus and Watters joked about MyPillow and other products advertised on Fox. Relief Factor, Rosland Capital, and Finance of America reverse mortgages frequently advertise on the network; MyPillow formerly did. Nielsen reports the median Fox News viewer age is 69. Polls show much higher trust among Republicans 65+ (76%) than Republicans under 30 (41%). Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized the network's older audience.
Reacting on The Five to Cracker Barrel's ill-fated rebrand attempt, Watters argued, It's like they tried to make it younger, but Cracker Barrel is for old people. It's like trying to sell reverse mortgages to young people, or gold, or Relief Factor. Fox News contributor Tyrus replied, Or MyPillow. Or all the things we sell on Fox, mocked Watters. You just have to keep your audience happy with what they're used to. That's why people will be watching Fox until they die.
Relief Factor, Rosland Capital gold, and Finance of America reverse mortgages are all frequently advertised on Fox News. Mike Lindell's MyPillow also used to be a frequent advertiser on the network. According to Nielsen, the median age for Fox News viewers is 69 years old. Polls also show that the network is far more trusted among older Americans than younger, with 76% of Republicans aged 65 or older stating that they trust the network, versus just 41% of Republicans under 30.
Both former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have recently thrown shade at the network's elderly audience. Most of the people that watch Fox News are very much up in age, the Baby Boomer generation, who I love, those are my parents, but that's their biggest audience, observed Greene this month. That's not the future of America. Watch above via Fox News.
