Lightning, a humanoid robot, finished the Beijing E-Town Half-Marathon in 50 minutes and 26 seconds, surpassing the human world record. A second, remotely controlled Lightning unit completed the race in 48 minutes and 19 seconds. The event featured 12,000 human runners and was co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal People's Government. This year's competition saw significant improvements, with 112 teams and over 300 robots participating, compared to last year's event, which faced numerous failures among robotic runners.
