Jesse Ewart suspended for three years after EPO detected in anti-doping test
Briefly

The UCI has officially suspended Australian-born Irish cyclist Jesse Ewart for three years after he tested positive for Erythropoietin (EPO), a prohibited substance.
After returning an Adverse Analytical Finding following a doping control test, Ewart’s achievements post-January 26 have been invalidated, including his first UCI stage win since 2019.
In addition to a three-year suspension, Ewart has also been fined 7,000 CHF, with his ineligibility extending through to May 15, 2027.
EPO is known for enhancing red blood cell production and oxygen delivery to muscles, making it a dangerous doping agent in competitive cycling.
