Annie Hughes, a Colorado ultrarunner, made history as the youngest woman to win the Leadville 100 Mile and Moab 240 Mile races. Starting her athletic journey in lackluster sports, she discovered her passion for running during a fifth-grade fitness test. From then on, she transitioned to track and then to trail running, driven by a quest to climb Colorado's fourteeners. Despite facing injuries, her enthusiasm for ultrarunning and her unique approach, including cooking 'superhero muffins' for teammates, showcase her adaptability and spirit in overcoming obstacles in a demanding sport.

For my crew at races, I make a big batch of these muffins. They're called superhero muffins. That's an appropriately named trademark snack for my races.
