I traveled to Kyiv tonight: by train through a country that has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression for over 1,000 days.
I would like to make it clear here on the ground that Germany will remain Ukraine's strongest supporter in Europe.
Germany's support for Ukraine comes as Europe's largest economy is in a state of political flux, with nationwide elections set to take place in 2025.
Next year is also surrounded with uncertainty over the West's position on Ukraine, and in particular that of the United States.
