Lt. Nicolas Talbott, an Army reservist and lead plaintiff in the case against the Trump administration's 2025 transgender military ban, expressed his concerns following the Supreme Court's decision to pause a lower court ruling. With the potential threat to his career and those of thousands of others, Talbott is steadfast in his determination to fight against the ban. Despite the current legal setbacks, he remains optimistic about the outcome and is prepared for possible job losses, stating that he and others are bracing for a challenging future in light of the ruling.
"I was like, oh shoot-yeah, that's bad," he told The Advocate with a chuckle.
"It was not at all what any of us wanted to have happen," Talbott said, referring to the high court's stay in Shilling v. United States.
