SF Pride's executive director, Suzanne Ford, expressed worries about heightened threats this year, necessitating stronger security measures and potentially increased costs to ensure safety during the event, which last year had a budget significantly allocated to security.
"I expect people are going to be emboldened and we are going to encounter more threats this year," Ford said, noting the need for increased security.
"Most or all of our internal contacts, queer employees, are gone...We don't expect Meta to return to our celebration or parade in 2025," said Ford.
