Audium Continues Presenting Captivating New Works By Emerging Artists, In a Quirky, Very 70s Performance Space

Audium, located at 1616 Bush Street, is a distinctive performance venue that has transitioned from its historical roots of Stan Shaff's electronic music to support emerging artists through a residency program. Originally designed in 1976, Audium featured a carefully controlled sound environment with 169 speakers, immersing audiences in a surround-sound experience. Today, the venue continues its legacy, now run by David Shaff, providing a platform for new works by contemporary artists while preserving its original aesthetic, including its unique red carpeting from the 1970s.
