San Jose's SoFA District is set to welcome the Pete Be Center, a new late-night concert venue and bar, following unanimous City Council approval. The venue, covering over 10,000 square feet and accommodating 1,142 people, aims to enhance the downtown vibe. CEO Alex Stettinski notes its potential to host prominent acts, while owner Pete Be emphasizes San Jose's aspirations to increase its status as a vibrant destination. Operational hours will be from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., with plans to book acts usually bypassing the city.
It is rare that someone tries to bring a new concert venue into the district. The size of this project will allow the booking of prominent acts that can help bring vibrancy and nightlife to downtown.
For a long time, San Jose has been a tier 2 destination, a far cry away from the tier 1 view of San Francisco. We need to bring San Jose back into the fold.
