Nikita Casap, a 17-year-old from Wisconsin, is facing multiple charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, after allegedly murdering his mother and stepfather. Their bodies were found in a severely decomposed state, hidden under blankets and clothes in their home weeks later. Casap reportedly communicated with others using his parents' accounts, living alongside the corpses for nearly two weeks. Authorities discovered the bodies following a welfare check prompted by his absence from school and suspicious text messages sent from his stepfather's phone. Casap was arrested in Kansas while driving his stepfather's car.
Casap lived with the bodies for 12 days, communicating with school and family while concealing the murders, before being arrested in Kansas.
Prosecutors believe both victims died around February 11, and were found in a decomposed state, leading to the need for alternative identification methods.
