Bosnian Serb police raid federal office as tensions escalate DW 03/07/2025
Briefly

Recent reports indicate that police in Republika Srpska, the Serbian-majority region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have expelled federal police from a building in Banja Luka. This action follows President Milorad Dodik's call for ethnic Serb members of the federal police to resign and join the local government, which promises to ensure their employment status. His aggressive stance has escalated with the passing of laws that restrict federal authority and face legal challenges from Bosnian officials backed by the EU, emphasizing concerns about the constitutional integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We have ensured them a job, while preserving their legal status, ranks, and positions. They will receive the same salary, or even a higher salary than they had.
Dodik's laws undermine the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We will do that. We have the ability to defend ourselves, and we will do that.
