Final chance for Independent candidates to feature in VoteSmart election tool that gives voters clearer insights
Briefly

The primary aim of the election test is educational - participants learn more about themselves and about the policies of political parties and Independents.
VoteSmart will give Irish voters the opportunity to assess the distance between their opinions and those of political parties and Independents running in the general election.
The voting test was developed in Belgium, where it has been used in every election since 2003 and forms a central part of the campaign debate.
It should encourage greater participation in the election process and provide transparency around the positions of parties and Independents on key issues.
