Rep. Liccardo invited a fired federal worker to Trump speech who then got his job back

During a recent Presidential address, Democratic Rep. Sam Liccardo invited Daniel Sandecki, a disabled veteran, to illustrate the consequences of workforce reductions. Interestingly, just before the event, Sandecki's employment status was restored, which he found unbelievable and emotional. He had been terminated from his position at the Palo Alto VA earlier. Liccardo, upon learning about Sandecki's reinstatement, remarked humorously on the political implications, while also criticizing the confusing management of communications regarding his job.
I felt it was important for Donald Trump to see the faces of those who have been impacted by his decisions, Liccardo said.
I am still trying to process all of it. I'm in disbelief, said Sandecki, who was still attending the speech at the Capitol on Tuesday night.
I would like to think this was the most productive political post of my Congressional career of eight weeks, the former San Jose mayor joked.
