"The decomposed torso was missing its head, arms, and legs - and was wrapped in tape and rope, according to cops. The torso had 'several unique and identifiable tattoos,' NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny previously said of that discovery."
"The doctor further states that he believes that straight edge instruments, such as a knife was used to cut through the soft tissue, and some sort of saw was used to cut through the bone, the chief said of a forensic anthropologist who was reviewing the case."
"Ali was last seen on July 13 while on FaceTime with a family member, the sources said. Simboo bizarrely filed a missing report for her that same day, according to the sources."
Rupchand Simboo, 75, was arrested for the murder of Salisha Ali, 34, a Trinidad and Tobago native. The couple met in 2023, maintained a long-distance relationship, and married after Ali moved to Queens in 2024. Ali's dismembered torso was discovered by sanitation workers on September 22, 2025, near Idlewood Park near JFK Airport, wrapped in tape and rope, missing its head, arms, and legs. A human head was later found on March 5 at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, establishing the connection. Forensic analysis indicated straight-edge instruments like knives and saws were used to dismember the body. Ali was last seen on July 13 during a FaceTime call, the same day Simboo filed a missing person report.
