49ers elevate LB Eric Kendricks, OT Brandon Parker from practice squad
"Williams, 37, was listed as questionable with a hamstring strain sustained on the first play from scrimmage in the 49ers' 42-38 win over the Chicago Bears. He was hurt chasing T.J. Edwards, who returned a Brock Purdy interception 35 yards for a touchdown the first play of the game. Austen Pleasants filled in adequately for Williams, playing the final 71 snaps, and is in line to start if Williams can't go after testing out his hamstring with trainers."
"Kendricks is elevated for the third straight game after being signed to the practice squad. He was signed Nov. 26 after leading the Dallas Cowboys in tackles last season and could play in place of either Tatum Bethune in the middle or Dee Winters at weakside linebacker if needed. Teams are allowed to activate practice squad players three times before adding them to the 53-man roster, but the clock starts in the playoffs,"
The 49ers elevated offensive tackle Brandon Parker and linebacker Eric Kendricks from the practice squad for the regular-season finale against the Seattle Seahawks. Trent Williams suffered a hamstring strain on the first play versus the Bears and is listed as questionable; Austen Pleasants played the final 71 snaps and could start if Williams is unavailable. Parker has prior NFL starting experience but has not been active this season. Kendricks, signed Nov. 26, could fill multiple linebacker roles and has been elevated three straight games. Practice-squad activation rules change in the playoffs, allowing roster flexibility. Several other players were listed as questionable, including George Kittle.
