On August 9, 2025, transit activists from Sonoma and Marin County participated in a walking tour to experience newly installed wayfinding signage between the SMART station and Santa Rosa's Transit Mall. The Metropolitan Transportation Commission, in collaboration with transit agencies in nine Bay Area counties, installed the signs to enhance transit connectivity. The route, which was a quarter-mile and involved crossing a busy freeway and navigating office buildings, received positive feedback from participants about the improvements and coordination efforts among Bay Area transit systems.
