Fog City, a renowned dining establishment in San Francisco, has officially closed after 40 years of service. The beloved eatery, known for its unique menu and cultural contributions, including its appearance in 'So I Married an Axe Murderer', announced its permanent closure on social media. Founded in 1985 by restaurateurs Bill Higgins and Bill Upson with chef Cindy Pawlcyn, Fog City introduced many to the small plates dining scene. Despite its popularity and national recognition, the owners cited the closure as a heartfelt farewell to their devoted patrons after four decades of operation.
"With a Heavy Heart I share some difficult news. Fog City has closed Permanently with the last day of Service being May 30, 2025. Thank You for the 40 years of patronage!"
"From the moment this glossy diner opened its doors, the booths have been full, the bar stacked and the reservation books complete..."
