Thousands of volunteers participated in California Coastal Cleanup Day, removing over 254,772 pounds of trash and recyclables along the state's coast, showcasing community dedication to environmental preservation.
"Californians really turned out for our coast today," Coastal Commission executive director Kate Huckelbridge said. "Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to protect our beaches and waterways, inspiring vigilance in coastal protection for generations."
