Giants catch fortunate break after White Sox's Michael Taylor misses home plate
Briefly

The San Francisco Giants experienced a hitting slump, culminating in a loss to the Chicago White Sox despite a pivotal moment in the game. In the seventh inning, White Sox player Michael A. Taylor, after hitting a double, missed home plate while sliding past Giants catcher Andrew Knizner. This allowed Knizner to tag Taylor out, a moment of rare luck for the struggling Giants. However, they couldn't take advantage of this break and ultimately lost the game 1-0, marking their fourth loss by that score this season.
Though he easily beat the throw from right fielder Mike Yastrzemski, Taylor's left hand came up just short of the plate as he reached out mid-dive.
Fortunately for the Giants, Knizner made a heads-up play to go tag the runner before the home plate umpire correctly called him out.
After all, San Francisco fans know the mantra: Giants baseball: Nothing like it.
Unfortunately for the Giants, they were unable to capitalize on the lucky break, going on to lose 1-0.
