Alyssa Nakken, who made history as the first woman to coach an MLB game, is leaving her role with the San Francisco Giants to join the Cleveland Guardians.
In Cleveland, Nakken will take on a player development role, working under manager Stephen Vogt alongside familiar faces from her time with the Giants.
Joining the Giants organization in 2014, Nakken ascended to an assistant coaching position in January 2020, breaking barriers for women in professional baseball.
The baseball community recognizes Nakken's historical contributions, notably her milestone moment on April 12, 2022, when she coached on the field in an MLB game.
