WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark attends SF Giants game before facing Valkyries
Caitlin Clark used the Indiana Fever’s off day before facing the Golden State Valkyries to attend a San Francisco Giants game. She was shown seated in the owners’ section next to the Giants dugout during the bottom of the fifth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Clark wore a Giants hat with a silver SF and sat beside her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who wore an orange Giants hat. Giants broadcasters Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper welcomed her presence and commented on her shooting ability, joking about not wanting to play H.O.R.S.E. with her. Clark has attended major sports events, including serving as grand marshal for the Indianapolis 500. She is not a die-hard baseball fan but enjoys going to games and has tried baseball play-by-play. Brandin Podziemski was also seen at the game. Clark and the Fever play the Valkyries Thursday night at Chase Center.
"The NBC Sports Bay Area broadcast showed Clark sitting in the owners' seats next to the Giants dugout before the bottom of the fifth inning of Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Clark was wearing a Giants hat with a silver SF on it while seated next to her boyfriend, former Iowa basketball player Connor McCaffery, who was also wearing a regular orange Giants hat. Giants broadcasters Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper celebrated her appearance at the game and hoped the Giants hats "weren't for show.""
""Caitlin Clark, just what a tremendous player and great shooter," Krukow said. Kuiper agreed with the last line before adding, "It makes it sound like anything, but we know that she can. But she can shoot." Krukow quipped, "You don't want to get into a H.O.R.S.E. game with her. You will lose.""
"The basketball star is a big sports fan and has attended a number of big games and events - and over the weekend, she was the grand marshal for the Indianapolis 500. Baseball-wise, Clark has said she isn't a "die-hard baseball fan," but she clearly enjoys going to games in the sport and has even once tried to do baseball play-by-play. Clark wasn't the only basketball star in attendance on Wednesday. The broadcast also showed Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski at the game."
"Clark and the Fever will take on the Valkyries on Thursday night at Chase Center, just down Third Street from Oracle Park. It'll be a chance for revenge for Golden State after losing in Indianapolis 90-82 last Friday."
