The San Jose Sharks recently held a practice session that welcomed 5-year-old cancer survivor Luke Schumann. Diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkin's lymphoma shortly after his fifth birthday, Luke bravely underwent surgery and chemotherapy, finishing his treatment in September 2024. His wish to skate with the Sharks and meet Macklin Celebrini was granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Luke's father shared insights about his son's journey, highlighting the support they received during this challenging period and Luke's passion for hockey.
"Make a Wish provides these cool opportunities for kids... he fell in love with the Sharks and wanted to meet the Sharks and Macklin."
"He went through all his cancer treatments and chemo... and we got great news this past fall; he was cancer-free."
