The San Jose Sharks have reportedly bolstered their forward group on the first day of NHL free agency Monday, signing Tyler Toffoli to a multi-year contract.
Toffoli's four-year, $24 million contract with the Sharks carries an average annual value of $6 million, making him the second-highest paid forward behind captain Logan Couture.
The Sharks added Toffoli to address the team's lack of scoring up front, with only one winger hitting the 20-goal mark last season and a low total of 181 goals as a team.
Toffoli brings significant experience and scoring prowess to the Sharks, with 260 career goals in 812 games and 33 goals in his recent season with the Winnipeg Jets.
