Felix Baumgartner, known for his record-breaking skydiving feats, died at age 56 after a paragliding accident in Porto Sant Elpidio, Italy. He became ill prior to crashing into a hotel swimming pool, resulting in injuries to a hotel employee. Baumgartner made history in 2012 as the first person to fall faster than the speed of sound during a 24-mile high leap from the stratosphere. Known as 'Fearless Felix,' he became an icon for extreme flight and adventure before his tragic passing.
