Tostadas, a beloved brunch spot in San Jose, has reopened after a fire and flood forced it to close in 2023. Celebrating its relaunch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Matt Mahan, the establishment continues to showcase its unique Mexican-style tostadas instead of traditional toast. Founded by siblings Alex and Victor Garcia in 2019, Tostadas has expanded to several locations and plans to franchise the brand. Situated in the vibrant East Village corridor, the reopening highlights the importance of local businesses in fostering community support and neighborhood vitality.
Their Downtown location quickly became a favorite, sparking growth with additional spots in Midtown, Campbell, and Santa Clara, where they've even ventured into fine dining.
The reopening shines a light on how small businesses, backed by community support and city leaders, keep our neighborhoods thriving.
