Costco now carries nostalgic grocery store item that disappeared years ago
Briefly

Slice, a nostalgic soda brand that debuted 41 years ago, has made a comeback with a healthier twist. Acquired by Suja Life in May, the new Slice offers flavors like lemon-lime, orange, and grapefruit, while containing 5 grams or less of sugar and being sweetened with fruit juices. Available in select retailers, this reinvented Slice aligns with the growing trend of functional beverages that promote health, amid predictions of significant market growth in this segment over the next decade.
"By transforming this everyday beverage into a leveled-up version with benefits, we're making a significant impact on the health and well-being of our consumers," Suja Life CEO Maria Stipp said in a statement.
The reinvented Slice follows the trend of other healthy soda drinks like Poppi and Olipop, which are considered functional drinks due to their purported health benefits.
