A male hiker fell approximately 30 feet from a fixed-rope section of the Mount Wilson Trail on Saturday. The trail is a popular 6-mile hike in the San Gabriel Mountains. The Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team, along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, responded to the incident. Unfortunately, the hiker was found deceased upon their arrival. His identity has not been released, and the Mount Wilson Trail was closed during the recovery operation. The rescue team expressed condolences to the hiker's family and friends.
