A man from Sandwich, Massachusetts, was rescued from a hiking trail on South Moat Mountain in New Hampshire on Friday. Around 4 p.m., N.H. Fish and Game received a report of a hiker experiencing severe cramps in his arms and legs approximately two miles from the trailhead. The man was hiking with a friend when the cramps started. After an hour of attempting to rehydrate, his friend called 911 as the cramping persisted, according to N.H. Fish and Game.

But on the way back down, he veered off trail and found himself trapped alongside another hiker on an ice sheet on the northern tip of Wintun Glacier at around 13,500 feet in elevation, according to the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.
