Bridger Bowl, MT, Pays Staff End-of-Season Bonus after Early Closure
"“Thank you for everything you brought to Bridger Bowl this season. The entire management team is grateful for the role you play in making this place so special, and we hope this additional support helps you as you head into a great spring and summer ahead,” the letter wrote."
"“For those counting on the final weeks of work, the loss of anticipated hours created a financial burden, especially during the transition into spring and summer employment. While Bridger cannot guarantee the length of any season, we wanted to find a meaningful way to bridge the employment gap,” Towle wrote."
"“Our Board of Directors was incredibly supportive and approved more than we had originally requested,” Towle stated."
Bridger Bowl in Montana ended its ski season on March 22, 2026 due to warm weather and poor snow conditions. The early closure reduced available work days and sometimes weeks for seasonal employees. Bridger Bowl management notified employees that they would receive an end-of-season bonus to help offset financial losses from the closure. The bonus is intended to bridge income gaps that can occur when employees transition from winter resort work to spring and summer jobs. General Manager Hiram Towle confirmed the bonus and said the Board of Directors approved additional support beyond the original request. Management aimed to provide meaningful assistance despite not being able to guarantee season length.
