Morgan Rogers won the PFA Young Player of the Year after a season that produced 14 goals and 15 assists. Premier League interest in the 23-year-old attacking midfielder is expected to grow if he continues his current trajectory and increases his goal and assist totals. Clubs mentioned as potential suitors include Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham. Aston Villa are advised to prepare to safeguard Rogers' value and be ready for offers, with significant bids more likely next summer rather than immediately before the current transfer window.
I worry a little bit about Morgan Rogers, because I think that players get their head turned very quickly, Collymore said. Although he's a Midlands lad, he's used to moving around to different clubs. So he's one of those players that will go where he feels that he can achieve things. And there's nothing wrong with that.
I don't think, at this point, a club will come in with a bid for Rogers before the transfer window. But this time next year, if he continues the trajectory that he's on and starts to add more goals and more assists, then it's not going to be a surprise if Arsenal, Man United, Man City or even Liverpool make a move. Villa need to do whatever they can do now to safeguard that asset, because if I was one of the top four or five teams, I would take Morgan Rogers in a heartbeat.
