The Arsenal captain went down clutching his left knee after clashing with Crysencio Summerville in the first half of a 2-0 victory against West Ham that sent Mikel Arteta's side top of the table. degaard twice attempted to carry on after treatment before being replaced by Martin Zubimendi, and Arteta said the 26-year-old had left the ground with his knee in a brace."
"Arsenal said last week that tests showed degaard had sustained medial collateral ligament damage and the midfielder withdrew from the Norway squad for their 5-0 victory over Israel on Saturday in a World Cup qualifier and a friendly with New Zealand on Tuesday. He is not thought to require surgery but it is understood he is not expected to return before the next international break, which starts on 10 November."
Martin degaard suffered medial collateral ligament damage to his left knee after clashing with Crysencio Summerville and is expected to miss around six weeks. He twice attempted to continue before being replaced by Martin Zubimendi and left the ground with his knee in a brace. Tests confirmed MCL damage and degaard withdrew from Norway's squad, missing matches against Israel and New Zealand. Surgery is not thought necessary, and he is not expected back until after the international break beginning 10 November, which rules him out of seven fixtures. Eberechi Eze and Ethan Nwaneri have filled his creative midfield role.
