Howe confirms Newcastle nearing Woltemade deal as Liverpool continue Isak chase - Soccer News
Briefly

Newcastle United are progressing towards signing Germany forward Nick Woltemade, with positive signs but no confirmed deal yet and registration likely not completed for the upcoming Leeds match. Woltemade scored 17 goals and supplied three assists last season as Stuttgart finished ninth and won the DFL-Pokal, and he was among young European players achieving 20 goal involvements. Newcastle previously had bids rejected for Yoane Wissa and Jorgen Strand Larsen amid the deadlock over Alexander Isak, who has not featured in the first two Premier League games while seeking a move. Squad availability is affected by Anthony Gordon's three-match ban and Joelinton's continued absence.
Not too much to say, but there are positive signs. I think things are moving and developing in a good way at the moment. I can't confirm anything, but fingers crossed.
I don't think that's possible, due to lots of reasons I don't understand. The most important thing is that we try and bring a centre-forward in, that's what we've been working towards all summer, so hopefully we're getting closer.
