Martin Zubimendi: I have to adapt but Arsenal signed me because they like what I do'
"Mikel Arteta knew and so did Win. Dogs just do. Well, of course, Martin Zubimendi says, cracking up. The July day he walked through the doors at the Arsenal training centre, the club's resident chocolate labrador a therapy dog the head coach had brought in to bring the kind of calm wanted from the new signing too was the first to welcome him."
"Zubimendi's welcome at Arsenal included meeting Win, Arsenal's therapy dog. When you're away, he admits, you appreciate these moments even more."
Martin Zubimendi arrived at Arsenal in July and received a warm welcome from the club's resident chocolate labrador, Win. He arrived with his parents and agent and was immediately comforted when Win sat by him and rolled at his feet. Teammates Mikel Merino sent a letter and Martin degaard made a video call. Zubimendi is preparing with the Spain team for World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria and says time away makes him appreciate these moments. He values the change from his long-term hometown club and had few doubts about moving. He hopes to reunite soon with his own dog, Lea.
