NWSL investigation clears Bay FC coach Montoya
Briefly

An independent investigation determined that Bay FC coach Albertin Montoya did not violate the NWSL's anti-harassment policy despite earlier complaints. Conducted by Debevoise & Plimpton, the investigation noted a need for improved communication. In response, Bay FC affirmed commitment to fostering a supportive environment and enhancing communication strategies. The NWSL has amended policies in the past to combat workplace issues and implemented measures for better protection of players, including changes to employee vetting and establishing an anonymous tip line.
The league conducted a comprehensive review and determined Bay FC head coach Albertin Montoya was not in violation of any league rules. We are grateful the league has identified opportunities for additional communication improvements which we are, and have been, implementing.
Among the findings were recommendations to facilitate more effective communication and enhance support structures, which the NWSL, Bay FC and coach Montoya have taken, and are continuing to take, to address such concerns.
