Real Madrid parted ways with first-team manager Xabi Alonso following a 3-2 Super Cup defeat to Barcelona at Alinma Bank Stadium in Saudi Arabia. The club and Alonso reached a mutual agreement to end his time in charge. Real Madrid expressed gratitude and wished Alonso and his technical staff well. Alvaro Arbeloa has been appointed first-team manager, promoted from Real Madrid Castilla. Arbeloa managed Castilla since June 2025 and coached in Real Madrid's youth academy since 2020.
