Rubiales fails in CAS appeal of three-year FIFA ban
Briefly

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has confirmed the three-year ban imposed on former Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales for his non-consensual kiss of player Jenni Hermoso during the 2023 Women's World Cup final. Despite Rubiales' appeal, which sought to reduce or overturn the sanction, the CAS panel upheld FIFA's decision, citing serious violations of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. In a related judicial proceeding, Spain's High Court convicted Rubiales of sexual assault, fining him and imposing restrictions on his proximity to Hermoso.
The appeal by Mr Rubiales is dismissed and the contested decision is maintained.
The CAS panel determined that his behaviour... constituted multiple and serious violations of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
